What to Expect

Massage therapy sessions at Ease & Insight Wellness are structured, collaborative, and paced to support both your physical comfort and sense of safety. Whether this is your first massage or part of ongoing care, we aim to make the experience clear, respectful and grounded.

Before treatment: Your session begins with a brief intake conversation to review relevant health history, current concerns, and treatment goals. You’ll then be given privacy to undress to your own comfort level and will be professionally draped at all times during treatment. During treatment: Throughout the session, your therapist will check in about comfort, pressure, and pacing. Adjustments can be made at any time, and you’re welcome to ask questions, offer feedback, or rest quietly. After treatment: After treatment, your RMT will step out so you can get dressed at your own pace. Before you leave, there may be a short check-in and, when helpful, simple self-care or movement suggestions to support the benefits of your session. Our Goals Our goal is for you to leave feeling informed, supported, and more at ease in your body, both in the moment and moving forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: Is there parking nearby?
A: Yes! We have two designated on-site spots. If they’re full, street parking is just steps away.

Q: What is your cancellation or late arrival policy?
A: Please give at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee. If you’re running late, we’ll do our best to accommodate you, but your session may need to end at the scheduled time.

    Q: Do you direct bill?
A: We offer direct billing with select insurance providers. If direct billing isn’t available, you’ll receive a receipt (printed or emailed) for easy reimbursement.

    Q: Do I need a doctor’s referral?
A: Most services don’t require a referral. Some insurance plans may ask for one for massage coverage, so check with your provider if needed.

  • Q: How do I book an appointment?
A: Booking is easy through our secure Jane App—choose your service, time, and confirm. If you’re unsure which service is best, we’ll guide you.

Q: What if I’m not sure which service is right for me?
A: You don’t need to decide before booking. Tell us your needs, and we’ll help you find the right fit.

Q: What should I wear to my appointment?
A: Comfort is key. For massage, you’ll be draped at all times. For counselling or SE, everyday comfortable clothing works perfectly.

    Q: Can I bring a support person?
A: Yes. Support persons can wait in reception, and in some cases join you in-session if discussed with your practitioner.

  • Q: How do I pay?
A: We accept credit, debit, and cash. Receipts are provided via email or in print.

Q: Are services covered by insurance?
A: Massage therapy is often covered by extended health benefits. Counselling and SE may also be covered depending on your plan—check with your provider.

  • Q: How early should I arrive?
A: A few minutes early helps you settle in and transition into your session.

Q: What can I expect after my session?
A: Clients often leave feeling calmer, lighter, or more relaxed. Notice shifts in the days following, and be sure to hydrate, rest, and listen to your body.

  • Q: Is massage safe during pregnancy or medical treatments?
A: Yes, with adaptations. Always inform your therapist about your pregnancy or medical situation so techniques can be safely adjusted.

Q: Do I need to undress?
A: Only to your comfort level. You’ll always be securely draped.

    Q: Will massage be painful?
A: Some techniques may feel like mild pressure as tension releases, but you are always in control. Relief—not pain—is the goal.

Q: How often should I get massage therapy?
A: It depends on your goals—weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly sessions can all work. We’ll help create a plan that fits your lifestyle.

Q: What should I do after my massage?
A: Move gently, hydrate, and rest if needed. Some feel energized, others deeply relaxed—both are normal.
